Due to the massive presence of this kind of waste, and the lack of appropriate collection systems in some municipalities, the Consorci per a la Gestió de Residus del Vallès Oriental comissioned ENT a specific management programme. ENT assessed the different generation patterns and proposed the most suitable collection schemes to each municipality. Also, some control mechanisms, and indicators to monitor the system were proposed. Moreover, ENT carried out an economic viability analysis of the new system, and proposed some taxes that could eventually finance the schemes.
