The Island Council of Eivissa and Formentera commissioned ENT an in-depth analysis of the economic and environmental consequences of the present urban waste management Programme for these two Balearic islands, giving much attention to the required waste treatment facilities.

In addition, ENT suggested some reforms to the present system so that recovery levels could be increased, and some other proposals related to collection systems, taxing schemes for financing the new measures, etc. These new ideas would imply a shift in the waste management policies, leading to a more appropriate management for such a tourist spot .
